Surfs Up in Orlando, Florida

August 5, 2019

Cowabunga! This year’s Surf Expo in Orlando, Florida, is one event you don’t want to miss if you’re at all into surfing. This year, the expo will be Sep. 5–7 at the Orange County Convention Center. Buyers, retailers, and surf superfans alike will get a preview of the new products, trends, and ideas from the leading voices in the surf industry.

If you love surfing and want to get a look at the hottest trends in surfwear and surfboards, you’ll want to register for the free event as a buyer as soon as possible.

The Best Places to Stay in O-Town

Hotels in the area fill up fast during Surf Expo time, so it’s important to find accommodations that meet your needs as early as possible. In fact, choosing a hotel close to the Convention Center ensures that you won’t need to spend a great deal of money on transportation. If you’re close by, you can skip the car rental and take advantage of Orlando’s great and inexpensive trolley and public bus system. Or, you can choose hotel shuttles, taxicabs, and rideshare drivers to take you wherever in the city.

The Hyatt Place Orlando/Convention Center is near the Orange County Convention Center. It features spacious, luxurious rooms, 24/7 dining options, an outdoor pool, and fitness center. It’s in the heart of all the action on International Drive, close to many tourist attractions and theme parks. Getting to the Surf Expo is effortless, meaning you won’t spend a long time in traffic traveling back to the hotel.

The Rosen Centre Hotel is just down the street from the Surf Expo. Its stylish, sophisticated design offers travelers an upscale experience. Award-winning services and amenities make guests feel pampered.

International Drive Provides Plenty of Fun and Entertainment

There are plenty of things to do, see, taste, and experience while in Orlando. I-Drive is full of shops, restaurants, and attractions such as WonderWorks, Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum, PointOrlando, iFly Indoor Skydiving, and shopping at the Prime Outlet Mall.

There is also SeaWorld and Universal Studios Orlando nearby. Walt Disney World Resorts and Downtown Disney are a short distance away from International Drive.

There are many places to find delicious food along I-Drive, too. Some of the most impressive include Bocas Grill Orlando, Fiorenzo, Urban Tide, Jack’s Place, the Capital Grille, Everglades, and Red’s Deli. Depending on what you’re in the mood to feast on, you’ll find American, Chinese, Italian, Seafood, Thai, and Latin American food, among others. There are steakhouses galore in the city.

Making the Most of Your Time in Orlando

Orlando is full of exciting opportunities for you to explore once you’re done attending this year’s Surf Expo—from hanging out on the beach or try out indoor skydiving. If you stay near the Orange County Convention Center, you’re guaranteed to be within walking distance of some of the most incredible things to do in the city. O-Town is full of life all hours of the day and night.
