5 Unique Restaurants In Niagara Falls

July 10, 2018

Niagara Falls astounds and amazes over 30 million visitors each year, and that number is always rising. Witnessing the power of the massive waterfall will make you marvel at nature’s awesome power. But when you are done with all that contemplating, you may find yourself ready for a meal that can rival the force of the mighty Niagara Falls. Well, there are plenty of eateries to be found in Niagara Falls town, but a few stand out above the rest. Take a look at 5 restaurants in Niagara Falls that will satisfy your cascading hunger.

1. The Big Sizzle

If you are hankering for a juicy burger or a whole mess of poutine, look no farther than the Big Sizzle. Located right in the middle of the action, this modern burger joint serves up tasty dishes quick and easy, but won’t skimp on quality or flavor.

You can never go wrong with a classic burger or bacon cheeseburger with your choice of toppings and sides, but don’t be afraid to live a little. The Big Sizzle has a number of innovative and scrumptious signature burgers and poutine dishes. For example, the big red burger comes with roasted red peppers, goat cheese, and garlic mayo.

Can’t decide between a burger or some tasty poutine? Grab the poutine burger topped with fries, gravy and cheese curds or tuck into the bacon cheeseburger poutine. Just make sure you come hungry. These dishes are more than just a snack.

2. Pho Xyclo

There are only a handful of vietnamese restaurants around Niagara Falls, and Pho Xyclo is heralded as the best in town. Visitors tend to return here night after night during their stay. Pho Xyclo excels at offering exciting new takes on traditional vietnamese dishes.

Case in point, the house specialty Kim Rolls are perfectly crispy golden fried spring rolls wrapped up inside larger fresh spring rolls. Another order, please! The menu has vegetarian and pescatarian friendly dishes that will delight like the thai mango salad, available with or without grilled shrimp.

Pho Xyclo is obviously well known for the traditional vietnamese broth soup, Pho. Patrons of Pho Xyclo often assert that their Pho tastes just like it was prepared in Hanoi, Vietnam. Grab a table at Pho Xyclo for top quality vietnamese fare at reasonable prices.

3.Antica Pizzeria

Antica Pizzeria is as close as you can get to an authentic Italian dining experience in the Western Hemisphere! The Mascia family as been operating Antica for over 40 years and they have perfected the art of thin crust wood fired pizza.

They pride themselves on creating an atmosphere that is inviting and comfortable, and they want you to feel right at home. Antica has great selection of antipasti appetizers, savory salads, and perfect pasta dishes.

If you came for a pizza, then tuck your napkin in because you are in for a treat. You have 19 different pizza combinations to choose from, each one as delicious as the next. You can get everything from capricciosa (prosciutto and artichoke hearts) to meat lovers (bacon, pepperoni, sausage, and ham). They now offer whole wheat and gluten free crusts as well!

4. Tide and Vine Oyster House

Founded in 2012 by Niagara Falls natives Mike Langley and Kat Steeves, Tide and Vine has been scooping up awards and accolades over the past half decade. The founders started modestly, shucking oysters out of a VW camper van around the area before establishing their own brick and mortar restaurant. Now they serve up premium seafood dishes with a kick.

Enjoy several varieties of raw, buffalo style, or tempura style oysters. You can order a classic lobster or steak dinner, or both with the surf ‘n’ turf. Are you celebrating with a large party? Tide and Vine has a whole menu of dishes that serves four or more!

Soak in the chic and modern ambience for dinner or Sunday brunch. Better yet, arrive early and enjoy their “super happy fun time” happy hour with drink and seafood combo specials! Be on the lookout for a second Tide and Vine location, a lunchtime sandwich shop opening soon.

5. AG

AG is consistently rated as the top restaurant around Niagara Falls because of their endless commitment to serving dishes comprised of fresh, seasonal ingredients of only the finest quality. The menu is inspired by American, French, and local cuisine and does not disappoint.

Start your evening off with garlic and parsley creamed escargot that will simply melt in your mouth, or harrissa rubbed wild boar fussili with forest mushrooms. Dive into your main course of grilled Ontario quail with blueberry barley risotto. Or maybe you would prefer bee pollen dusted lake pickerel (AG also operates the BusyBee Honey Factory so you know their stuff is good).

Pair your decadent dinner with a house recommended red or white wine, or perhaps a signature cocktail like the pear and ginger mojito. Don’t even get me started on the desserts. AG combines what they call “field to fork” food with elegant ambiance for a one of a kind dining experience. For the best meal in town, make your reservations tonight.

Conclusion

Niagara Falls can be the adventure of a lifetime. Niagara Falls hotel packages are a great way to see the falls and are easily found on sites like Expedia. Just make sure you stay fueled up for all of the excitement. There are plenty more interesting restaurants and cafes to explore and discover!
