20 local Canadian clothing brands that we just love!

There is nothing better than a good Canadian tux, and honestly, the Canadian dressing sense is awesome. The best thing about their style is that they are not ashamed of trying out local brands and proudly flaunting them if they find it good. As such, here’s a list of some local brands that Canadians and we just love!

1. Reigning Champ

This brand has made a name for itself as one of the best labels when it comes to essential wardrobe items.

2. Arc’teryx

Operating out of North Vancouver, they produce some of the toughest gear such as harnesses and backpacks for outdoor activities. Their quality is so high that even military agencies make use of their gear.

3. Canada Goose

The company started as a functional outwear brand before moving to down-filled jackets whose quality became so famous that rangers and polar tour guides started to use them as their first choice. Recently the company moved toward a luxury line in collaboration with Drake.

4. Roots

This Toronto-based company originally started as a negative heel shoe company, but was later redefined as a Leatherwear company. Roots products are quite affordable and of decent quality too.

5. Hudson’s Bay Company

Better known as HBC, this Toronto-based brand was at one time the largest landowner in the world. After being in the fur trade, it diversified into retail and is one of Canada’s biggest and best Canadian clothing brand today.

6. Herschel Supply Co.

Incepted and built out from a small town, Herschel Supply Co. is one of Canada’s most worn brand today.

7. Sorel

Originating out of Quebec and currently operating out of London, Sorel is the staple brand of choice for footwear.

8. Lululemon

This Vancouver-based company started its journey from the women’s yoga apparel segment and operates as an athletic apparel company.

9. Aritzia

This women’s fashion boutique from Vancouver is a popular choice among Canadian and North American women today.

10. Kit & Ace

Sustained in Vancouver, Kit & Ace has grown to be a major and beloved machine-washable Cashmere clothing and accessories brand amongst Canadians and places where its stores are located.

11. Mountain Equipment Co-Op

MEC is Canada’s largest supplier of outdoor equipment today. Founded by four members who were tired of traveling long distances for their gear needs, MEC operates over 20 stores in Canada.

12. Triarchy Jeans

This Vancouver brand now operated from L.A. is cherished and appreciated for its ingenuity of recycling the water used in its jeans production. Its range of denim made from recycled vintage jeans is also appreciated for being nature-friendly.

This Calgary-native brand is loved for its designer clothing made out of leftover fabric from factories in Instanbul.

This Toronto-based company is one of the city’s fastest-growing brands highlighting the elements of the local narrative.

20. WANT Les Essentials

This brand is all about luggage accessories. The products from this brand redefine sophistication while traveling with design cues taken from architecture models and stuff.

CONCLUSION

Agreed that there are many world-class brands out there against which local companies find very difficult to compete even if their product is similar or even superior. Support local brands whenever and wherever possible and help them as well as your economy grow. Try them out, and if it’s not satisfactory, let them know and help them grow.
